Currently Craving: Blog Inspired Edition

There are a few blogs that I follow religiously and view as credible sources. When those bloggers rave about products, I feel like I need them. There's just something about staring longingly at products on a computer screen. I am a full on product junkie and for some reason, certain products just really call to me. Maybe it's the packaging or the promise of the perfect ___. The name, the ingredients, colors... Whatever it is, I'm a sucker for certain things (I think it's the packaging.) Here are a few items I have been crushing on via my favorite blogs. Incidentally, these products cannot be purchased from a local Sephora, Nordstrom, or Neiman Marcus (just online) which makes them even more enticing to me.

First up, Aesop products. I have seen these on many a blog, but as soon as Kate from Ghostparties and Laura from buy now, blog later both raved about them, I knew I was done for. I had to get my hands on some of these. The Fabulous Face Oil is supposed to nourish dry, dehydrated skin, while evening things out, and not leaving a greasy residue behind. It absorbs quickly and the packaging would look quite pretty in my bathroom.

The Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque is said to cleanse the skin of impurities, while decongesting pores and quickly diminishing breakouts. It leaves skin looking brighter and healthier without leaving the uncomfortable tight sensation which many masks (masques?) are known to cause. Sounds lovely to me.

Ever since I have taken an interest in skincare, I have realized that my dehydrated, cystic acne prone skin loves a good serum. I am in love with Caudalie's S.O.S Thirst Quenching Serum (which I have recently repurchased) but you can never trial too many products, right? Aesop's Parsley Seed Antioxidant Serum is loaded with antioxidants to nourish the skin and shield it from outside aggressors. Also, being that these products are housed in brown glass bottles, they are protected from UV light, which allows them to use fewer preservatives. I really like their packaging. There is something very clinical and scientific looking about it, which possibly, is what leads me to believe this is a credible brand?

I first saw the Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush in a Pixiwoo video. I remember seeing the most lovely, naturally flushed cheeks I had ever seen. I clicked on the video only to find out what was used to create those beautiful cheeks. The thin, silicone formula is easy to blend and lasts "forever." The color is buildable and a little goes a long way. This has also graced the lovely faces of Lisa Eldridge and Kate of Gh0stparties.

For some reason, I have been really drawn to Jouer products lately (could be that "Jouer" translates to "to play.") I am particularly interested in the Matte Moisture Tint. Described as a "dewy matte," it disguises shadows and dark circles, conceals blemishes, all while allowing skin to breathe. The silky formula supposedly blends seamlessly while nourishing and evening out the skin. I have been looking for a lighter base, which will still cover my imperfections, and this might just be it!

I have been eyeing Lipstick Queen products for a while now. There's no doubt lipstick is my favorite, as I never really feel complete without it. And Lipstick Queen offers so many! the formulas and finishes all just look so nice. But, the one that really stands out is Hello Sailor, which is a navy blue, color changing lipstick with a twist. This actually turns the lips a deep berry tint with a slight hint  of blue. The blue tone is supposed to make the lips appear whiter. Being the coffee enthusiast that I am, that sounds quite lovely to me!

Last up is Sachajuan products. I have been getting into top of the line haircare lately, as nothing really seems to quite "work" on my hair. I need quite a bit of nourishing, frizz fighting, smoothing, shine, etc. I first saw Laura (buy now, blog later) post about the brand, and I was immediately enticed. Once again, I think it was packaging that reeled me in. The simple design aesthetic is something that looks very clinical (again) and non-gimmicky. Anyway, I have heard such good things about the Swedish brand, I had to try something. Well, I actually purchased the Hair Repair treatment, which after one use, made my hair feel stronger and smoother just out of the shower. This product uses Ocean Silk Technology (whatever the hell that is) to strengthen hair, reduce frizz, and add a silky shine. It also made my hair feel lighter, but I also thought it smelled a little perfumey. It wasn't necessarily unpleasant, just something to note. I also hear so many rave reviews about their Ocean Mist, which is a sea salt texturizing spray. I love me some beachy waves, and I always wonder if this would work for me on days when I straighten my hair, to give it some wave and body. These products are quite pricey, but haircare is something I like to splurge on, because, well... have you seen this mess I'm dealing with?

That's it for now, guys! Well there's always a ton of things I'm craving, but I can't go on all day, can I? Are there any products you are lusting after right now? Do you get sucked in by blog reviews the way I do? Are there any blogs you trust as credible sources that I should know about? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Many lovely products, they sound nice!

Reviews are usually easier for me to read as half the brands reviewed you can't get here in Australia or are really expensive here, haha. So I tend not to get too attached to things I read about.

  6. I really want to try the Jouer foundation as well! It's firmly on my wishlist but I don't know if I can justify buying another foundation given I have so many open at the moment that I need to use up first. I've also been curious to try Caudalie's S.O.S Thirst Quenching Serum - I've read so many positive reviews on it!
