March Favorites

Hello lovelies! The end of March is here and it has finally stopped snowing! Well, actually here in Michigan, it could honestly snow at any time, so I shouldn't say that. However, today I was able to go out and run errands sans coat while maintaining a decent comfort level! I drove with the windows down and finally felt the sun shining on my skin. I think I was going through sun withdrawals for a minute there! Anyway, here are a few products I was really digging over the month of March!

Essie's Bikini So Teeny is the perfect spring periwinkle nail polish! It is described as a "cornflower blue" on their website, but I'm sticking with periwinkle. This has a bit of a shimmer running through it in the bottle, but is almost undetectable once applied to the nail. You really  have to look closely to notice it. I used three coats, because this applied a bit streaky. I sort of liked the color a little better with two coats, but it sort of needed three, unfortunately. I did not use a topcoat, because I wanted to test the wear time of the polish alone, and I was not impressed. I got maybe two days (more like a day and a half.) Regardless of the chippiness, I am head over heels in love with the color and the super cute name :)

After  trying Benefit's Brow Zing at the Benefit counter, I knew I wanted to get my hands on this type of product. The dilemma was figuring out which one was for me. After reading various reviews, I decided on this one from Tarte. My goodness am I glad I did! This product glides over my brows and blends so easily and seamlessly, I could hardly believe it. It looks completely natural, not at all like they have been penciled in. This actually feels soft and moisturizing on my thick, coarse brow hairs. It even comes with a decent brush, which was a deciding factor for me, as it helped justify the $28 price tag. This nicely fills in sparse areas and the color (I think I ended up with Medium Brown) is a perfect match for me!

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer: I think this product was in my last Favorites post! Oops. Well, here it is again, because I love it. I use this before foundation to even out my splotchy skin tone and smooth out my pores. It also adds a bit of glow to my lackluster skin. Lately, I can't seem to get by without this under my foundation, because my skin is so flaky, I need the extra moisture or else my foundation clings to my skin flakes. Attractive, right? I had a sample-ish size, but I think I am going to have to invest in the full size version.

Real Techniques Buffing Brush: I finally caved and purchased more Real Techniques brushes after reading the countless lovely things about them. As far as I know, this particular brush can only be purchased in the Core Collection set for $17.99. I think that is still a fair price, because I would pay $17.99 for this brush alone, and you get a few others with it. It blends my foundation like nothing I have ever tried before (and trust me, that's a lot!) My foundation goes on smooth and streak free with barely any effort. It is super soft and I have not seen one hair shed from this thing.

Nars Desire Blush: This blush looks a little scary in the pan, no joke. And to be quite honest, it can be a little scary to work with if you aren't careful. However, if you are careful, this can give the prettiest pink flush to the cheeks! I just lightly tap my brush onto the blush (sometimes I will even tap a little bit off onto my hand or something so I don't have too much on the brush) and start lightly dabbing this onto my cheeks. I tend to blend this in with a MAC duo fiber brush. I use a very light hand when applying this, because it could easily translate into clown cheeks if I'm not careful. You can always build up the color for a little more oomph.

Philosophy Falling in Love: This perfume is like heaven in a bottle. It almost smells like the adult version of a cotton candy scented body spray. Their website describes it as a "delicious sparkling berry" scent. This is sort of a sensual, romantic sort of fragrance. I have truly fallen in love. The only thing about this is that it's an eau de toilette, which if I understand correctly, doesn't last as long as an eau de parfum. So, unfortunately, this isn't one of those perfumes you are going to smell on yourself at the end of the day. This is one you will have to reapply a couple times throughout the day, which is why I keep the rollerball version in my purse :)

Thanks for reading! As always, I wouldn't hate if you left me a comment or followed me through the various forms of social media!
