Review: Benefit Fake Up Concealer

Ok, so I didn't really need a concealer, as I am quite pleased with the Tarte concealer I am currently using, but when I saw this new one from Benefit, I just had to try it! This concealer is different, because the actual concealer is surrounded by a layer of this hydrating balm. I got the lightest shade, obviously, to match my corpse skin. It might be a bit more yellow than I prefer, because I like my under eye concealer to be slightly lighter than my skin. My eyes seem to look brighter that way.

My attraction to this was based on the fact that my eyes have been looking a little on the dry side lately. Sometimes, I find my concealer looking flaky under my eyes. With this, it does look smoother and more hydrated.

I also like the convenience of the lipstick tube type of packaging. I can throw this in my bag and touch up my corpse eyes any time. It's nice to just swipe this on under my eyes and be able to easily blend it out with my fingers. You don't really need a brush, as this blends really nicely. I like to use the warmth of my fingers to blend my concealer anyway.

As for the "creaseless" aspect of this product, I can't say I am super impressed. It might be that I have super deep creases under my eyes, and can't even wear eyeliner on my bottom lash line, but this does crease in that area (I think any product would crease under my eyes, though.)

This doesn't cover blemishes super well, so I just use this under my eyes and my Tarte Maracuja Concealer for blemishes.

This is $24 for a .12 oz tube on Sephora's website.

  1. I saw this and I heard a similar review of it. One of the biggest problems people have with it is the coverage. It's only a light to moderate coverage concealer. With my raccoon eyes, unfortunately it won't do much! :/

    1. I find it to be buildable, but you're right. It is more on the light side. Have you tried the Tarte one I mentioned? The consistency is a little thicker and might cover better for you.

  2. The famous benefit concealer :D It'S basically in very fashion book and while I though it was just PR I have to admit once you've tried you never stop wearing it :D

  3. Yes! It's so nice and hydrating and feels very smooth :)

Holla at me!
