OOTD: Steve Urkel Chic

I think it is safe to say I am more than ready for Spring. Though it was freezing outside, I could not contain my excitement about some of my new Spring/Summer purchases!

This outfit was inspired by these pink suspenders I stumbled upon in a local vintage shop. I was debating over this pug printed blouse from ASOS and once I had the suspenders, I needed this pink accented ridiculously fun blouse!I ordered the Petite size 4 to account for my short limbs, and though the shirt is a bit tight in the arms, I still really like the way it looks, so I'm just going to suck it up in the name of fashion.

I think I should also mention that right now, Target has some really fun, chic, Spring/Summer items! I got both my shoes and this sort of minty/jade bracelet on a recent Target trip. Most of these items are cheaper versions of designer or higher end pieces. In fact, I have seen some blatant J Crew knockoffs while perusing the aisles at Target, but sometimes, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. This lifestyle gets expensive. The more you can save, the more you can buy. I rather enjoy my adorable green, suede oxfords! I can't wait to wear them with Summer dresses :)  Now I just have to hold off until then without freezing to death... Wish me luck.

Face of the day: Frosty 90's Lips?

Ok, so no, I did not wear frosty 90's lipstick today. It just looks like that in the photo above, probably because of the flash on the camera? I guess this is what I get for trying to venture away from red and bright fuschia lipsticks.

Being a glasses wearer, I tend to focus on making my lips stand out, as my eye makeup often gets lost behind my giant, thick framed glasses. However, when I do bother with my eyes, it's usually limited to a few products. A MAC paint pot as a base, a lighter, shimmery shade all over the lid, and a darker, bronzey shadow in the crease. I blend that slightly above the crease, so it's actually visible over the fat flaps I've got for eyelids. Then, I use a MAC 219 brush to draw a precise line in an attempt to create some shape to my eye. I blend the edges of the crease shadow with a matte, vanilla shade, add some mascara and blush, et voila. A simple, presentable look. Nothing too glamorous. Just something to get me out the door looking polished (kind of?) and put together.

Products used:
Face: Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Foundation in the shade made for corpses|Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer | Chanel Poudre Universelle | MAC Pink Swoon Blush | (I may or may not have splotched a little bit of Benefit's Hoola Bronzer in various places on my face to make myself appear alive)

Eyes: MAC Groundwork Paint Pot | MAC Naked Lunch Eyeshadow | Nars Fez Eyeshadow | Benefit They're Real Mascara

Mix and Match

Looking a bit frumpaliscious in Anthropologie

waiting for a table at P.F. Changs

So, I wore this outfit on a little shopping excursion Saturday. Now, I love me some polka dots... ok, prints in general. Hence, my decision to pair this Forever 21 polka dot skirt with this owl print scarf from Etsy. I also really enjoy wearing pastels with polka dots. If I hadn't worn this lilac sweater, it probably would have been a mint colored sweater. Speaking of mint... I tossed on these mint colored tights just to busy up the outfit even more. Then, just in case owls, polka dots, and two different pastels weren't enough, I used a floral print bow to hold back my wild mane.

I plan on getting my hair cut this week. Lord knows I need it. I think most of the extra weight I have been gaining is currently sitting on top of my head... I hope. Any suggestions? I'm not sure if I'm going to do any color. I really love my ombre color. I feel like it's probably time for a change, but I think if I go back to one all over color, I'll miss my ombre. I would, however, like to change up my cut a bit. I guess, as long as I don't look like a giant hedgehog, I'll be happy.

Thanks for reading! As always, your comments are very much appreciated! Whenever I get a new comment or follower, it really makes my day :) Hope you had a good weekend!
